Further information on supporting our work.OLED monitors are known for their exceptional pixel responsiveness, as well as attractive image quality attributes. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G60SF (G6 / S27FG60) takes advantage of this, designed with fast-paced gaming in mind. The monitor includes a passive heat pipe cooling system rather than an active cooling solution (i.e. fan) and has the usual sleek styling with metallic elements used for recent models in the series. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer component. An ‘active area’ (overprovisioning of pixels) between the image and panel border is used for one of the image retention mitigation measures. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the central region.
A 26.5″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) Samsung Display QD-OLED panel is used with 500Hz refresh rate and VRR, including Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1. This allows VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to be used, with 48 – 500Hz VRR range plus LFC assumed. A 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD signal with HDR and VRR can also be used on modern consoles including the Xbox Series X and PS5. The screen has a matte finish rather than the usual QD-OLED glossy anti-reflective treatment. Other points of note include a 1m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour support. The screen is ‘flicker-free’ with 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance (~1000 cd/m² HDR peak). The monitor provides a lively HDR10 experience with 10-bit colour, generous colour gamut and per-pixel illumination being put to good use. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified – requiring higher brightness levels, including full screen white brightness, than the more common True Black 400 certification. An HDR mode with stronger brightness peaks is also included.
A 0.03ms grey to grey response time is specified, with OLED technology known for exceptional pixel responsiveness. The stand is fully adjustable, including height (120mm or 4.72 inches) adjustment and pivot into portrait. A customisable ‘Core Sync’ RGB LED lighting element surrounds the attachment point. The stand can be removed using a quick-release mechanism and replaced by an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution. The ports face backwards beneath the stand attachment point and include; 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports (plus Type-B upstream), a 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4 (with DSC) and a DC power input (external ‘power brick’).

The monitor is listed on certain regional websites from the manufacturer, such as their Singaporean one. The monitor is listed for ~$1000 USD.
