Further information on supporting our work.OLED panels are exceptionally responsive, pairing very well with high refresh rates for competitive gaming. The Dell Alienware AW2527HX is designed with this in mind, featuring a 560Hz QD-OLED panel with relatively ‘undemanding’ Full HD resolution. The monitor has simple styling with dark matte plastics used for the base and neck, with a low-profile and compact base design. Dual-stage bezels are used, with a panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus slim hard outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath the central region of the bottom bezel, with dedicated ‘Esports button’ for stretched aspect ratios included. Customisable RGB ‘AlienFX’ lighting elements include a ring around the power button and an alien logo at the rear.
A 24.5″ 1920 x 1080 (FHD or 1080p) Samsung Display QD-OLED panel is used with support for a 560Hz refresh rate plus VRR, allowing technologies such as Nvidia G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync to be used. The screen surface is matte anti-glare, whilst the monitor includes an RGB stripe (‘V-stripe’) layout to help with fringing issues. An ‘infinite contrast ratio’ is specified alongside a 0.03ms grey to grey response time and factory calibration (DeltaE <2 specified). The monitor is 'flicker-free' with 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut. No peak luminance is currently specified for this model, though the panel itself is rated up to 1800 nits for HDR. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600 certified, which requires a 600 cd/m² brightness peak (8% APL) and 350 cd/m² sustained full screen white luminance. Additional higher brightness HDR modes will feature. The included stand provides a generous 155mm (6.10 inches) height adjustment alongside tilt and swivel, with a flip-down headphone hook included at the rear of the screen. The ports face backwards in a recessed area and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 2.1 (UHBR 13.5), USB-B, USB-C and USB-A connectivity alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 3-year warranty covers OLED burn-in for peace of mind.

The monitor will be released Q1 2027, pricing details still to come.
