Some enjoy the horizontal workspace offered by 3440 x 1440 ultrawide monitors. The Asus ProArt PA34VCNV provides this, designed with colour-accurate workflows in mind. The usual styling for the series is adopted, including a satin-finish silver plastic stand with rectangular base and matte black plastic bottom bezel. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The bottom bezel is moderately thick, matte black plastic with OSD (On Screen Display) control buttons facing forwards towards the right side.

A 34.1″ 3440 x 1440 (21:9 ultrawide) IPS panel is adopted, with 3800R (relatively gentle) curve to potentially enhance viewing comfort and create a more natural viewing experience for such a wide screen. A 60Hz refresh rate is supported alongside Adaptive-Sync, allowing technologies such as AMD FreeSync and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used with 40 – 60Hz VRR range. Other aspects of note include a matte anti-glare screen surface, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour support. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 100% sRGB colour gamut and 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. A Calman Verified factory calibration is included with specified DeltaE <2 within the sRGB colour space. The peak of blue light is shifted to less energetic wavelengths (TÜV Rheinland certified Low Blue Light Hardware Solution) to potentially aid viewing comfort.

Basic HDR10 support is included with 10-bit colour supported, but the monitor lacks the required brightness, colour gamut or local dimming capability for true HDR output. A 5ms grey response time is specified, but as usual approach this figure with caution. The stand includes tilt, swivel and height adjustment (130mm or 5.12 inches). The stand can be removed via quick-release mechanism to reveal provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter with ‘zero watt’ switch), a 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.4, DP 1.4 output (for MST daisy chaining), USB-C (96W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), USB-C downstream, RJ45 ethernet and 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. 2 x 2W speakers are included and 2-system PiP/PbP is supported.

Good range of ports
