Further information on supporting our work. The ‘4K’ UHD resolution can be very attractive for image editing and other creative endeavours. The ViewSonic ColorPro VP2776T-4K offers an enhanced contrast IPS panel with this resolution and a host of useful features. The monitor has professional home-office styling, with particularly slender-looking stand neck (featuring integrated cable management). The top and side bezels have the usual dual stage design, with slim panel border surrounding the image plus thin hard plastic outer component. The OSD is controlled by a wired ‘ColorPro Wheel’ remote which can be docked in an indented region on the stand base. Or alternatively by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the right side as viewed from the front. A dedicated power button is also included.
The monitor uses a 27″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) IPS-type panel with 60Hz refresh rate (75Hz for select non-native resolutions) and matte anti-glare screen surface. This is an enhanced contrast (LG Display ‘IPS Black’ or AUO alternative) IPS panel with 2000:1 static contrast specified, alongside 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) colour support. The monitor includes a Pantone validated factory calibration with specified DeltaE <2 and supports hardware calibration using a supported calibration device and ViewSonic’s Colorbration software. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 98% DCI-P3 (89% Adobe RGB) colour gamut, alongside a 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. The screen is TÜV Rheinland certified with a Low Blue Light Hardware Solution, meaning the peak of blue light is shifted to slightly less energetic wavelengths to potentially enhance viewing comfort.
Basic HDR10 support is included at the VESA DisplayHDR 400 level, allowing the 10-bit colour support and generous DCI-P3 coverage to be used effectively. But the luminance is very limited by HDR standards and no local dimming is specified. A 5ms grey to grey response time is specified, but as usual don’t put much weight on this specification. The included stand attaches centrally via a quick-release mechanism – removing the stand reveals 100 x 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting. The stand is fully adjustable, including 120mm (4.72 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. A ‘Backstage Lighting’ bias light is located above the stand attachment point, potentially improving viewing comfort and enhancing perceived contrast. The ports face downwards beneath a removable plastic cover and include; DC power input (external ‘power brick’), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports (limited bandwidth but may include HDMI 2.1 VRR), DP 1.4, Micro USB (for ‘ColorPro Wheel’), Thunderbolt 4 (100W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), Thunderbolt 4 downstream (15W PD), 3 USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports (plus USB-C upstream), a 3.5mm audio output and RJ45 LAN port. 2 x 3W speakers are also included.
Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$600 USD.
