The MSI MAG 274QPF E20 provides a bit of a boost from the 165Hz – 180Hz capability typically found on ‘base tier’ gaming models, instead opting for 200Hz support. The monitor has a simple homely look with plenty of dark matte plastics. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS panel is used with support for up to 200Hz. Adaptive-Sync also features, allowing VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used with 48 – 200Hz VRR range plus LFC. Other aspects of the specification include a matte anti-glare screen surface, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) colour. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 300 cd/m² (~400 cd/m² HDR peak) typical maximum luminance and 95% DCI-P3 (92% Adobe RGB, 124% sRGB) colour gamut. Basic HDR10 support is offered with VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, allowing the screen to use 10-bit colour processing and use its reasonably wide gamut effectively. Though it doesn’t require high brightness by HDR standards and no local dimming is specified. A ‘0.5ms min’ grey to grey response time is specified. The included stand attaches centrally and can be removed to reveal provision for alternative 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. The stand is fully adjustable, including 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), DP 1.4 (with DSC), 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, USB-C (15W PD, DP Alt Mode) and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed ~$220 USD.
