Further information on supporting our work.~27″ QHD OLED monitors offer a tempting sweet spot for many gamers, pairing excellent levels of responsiveness and image quality with a ‘sensible’ resolution. The Gigabyte AORUS Elite FO27Q28G is one such offering, featuring a 280Hz Tandem WOLED panel from LG Display. The monitor follows the trend we’ve seen (and appreciate) with many gaming monitors, with a compact low-profile stand base rather than a hulking desk-hogging design. Slender dual-stage bezels are included at all sides, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer part. An overprovisioning of pixels (active area) between the image and panel border is included to facilitate one of the burn-in mitigation measures. A sensor unit underhanging the central region of the bottom bezel allows the screen to turn off if nobody is detected and also adjust the screen’s brightness according to ambient lighting. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath this.
A 26.5″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) LG Display Tandem WOLED panel is used with 280Hz refresh rate and VRR support, via both Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR. This allows technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync Premium to be used, with 48 – 280Hz VRR range plus LFC expected. The monitor includes a ‘Real Black Glossy’ anti-reflective screen surface and sports a 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour. A factory calibration with average DeltaE <2 is included and a 0.03ms grey to grey response time is specified. The screen is 'flicker-free' with 99.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut plus 1500 cd/m² (1.5% APL) HDR peak luminance specified. The monitor can provide a lively HDR10 experience, allowing it to make good use of its per-pixel dimming plus generous gamut and 10-bit colour support. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified - requiring higher brightness levels, including full screen white brightness, than the more common True Black 400 certification. HDR modes with higher peak brightness are also included.
‘OLED VRR Anti-Flicker’ is also included to allow you to constrain the VRR range to help mitigate VRR flicker, with an ‘Ultra Clear’ BFI (Black Frame Insertion) mode included to help reduce perceived blur at certain frame rates. At the rear a customisable RGB logo is included, whilst the stand is fully adjustable – including 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. It can be removed via quick release and alternative VESA mounting used instead. The ports face downwards and include; an AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 2.1, USB-C (15W DP, DP Alt Mode) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The monitor includes a passive (heat pipe) based cooling system, whilst burn-in is covered by warranty for 4 years (check regional variation).

Further details on the manufacturer product page. The FO27Q24G is also listed, which is a cut down 240Hz model with lower peak brightness, slightly narrower colour gamut and DP 1.4 rather than DP 2.1 support. Information on price and release date still to come.
