Further information on supporting our work.OLED technology is very attractive to gamers – provided they’re after at least a 27″ screen with ‘1440p’ QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace offers a smaller and lower resolution alternative designed for competitive and Esports gamers who prefer the ~24″ format. The monitor includes a low-profile and compact polygonal stand base, with brushed metal finish. Relatively slender dual-stage bezels are included at all sides, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and shortcut buttons behind the central region of the bottom bezel. A neo proximity sensor is included in the centre of the bottom bezel, allowing the screen to switch off when nobody is detected infront of it.
A 24.5″ 1920 x 1080 (FHD or 1080p) LG Display Tandem WOLED panel is used with support for a 540Hz refresh rate plus VRR, allowing technologies such as Nvidia G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync to be used. The screen surface is ‘TrueBlack’ glossy with anti-reflective treatment whilst the monitor sports 178°/178° viewing angles, 10-bit colour, a 0.02ms grey to grey response time and factory calibration with average DeltaE <2. The monitor is 'flicker-free' with 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 350 cd/m² (1700 nits HDR peak, 1.5% APL) typical maximum luminance. A dynamic HDR10 experience is provided, with the monitor able to put its 10-bit colour, generous gamut and per-pixel illumination to good use. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600 certified, which requires a 600 cd/m² brightness peak (8% APL) and 350 cd/m² sustained full screen white luminance. Additional higher brightness HDR modes are included. The stand is fully adjustable and can be removed to reveal provision for VESA mounting as an alternative. A pixel-effect RGB LED lighting element is also included at the rear.
