Further information on supporting our work.~32″ screens with ‘4K’ UHD resolution offer a nice balance of detail and immersion for many people. The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG32UQWMS is one such offering, oriented towards gamers with its 240Hz+ OLED screen. The monitor has a low-profile and relatively compact coated metal stand base, with slim bezels at all sides (especially top and sides). The bezels are dual-stage with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer part. An overprovisioning of pixels (‘active area’) between the image and panel border facilitate one of the ‘OLED Care Pro’ burn-in mitigation measures. A ‘Neo Proximity Sensor’ is also included, allowing the screen to blank out its pixels if nobody is using it. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and two buttons behind the sensor unit on the bottom bezel.
A 31.5″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) LG Display Tandem WOLED panel is used with 240Hz (480Hz FHD for ‘Dual Mode’) refresh rate. The screen surface is ‘TrueBlack’ glossy with anti-reflective treatment. VRR is supported via Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR, allowing technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to be used, with 48 – 240Hz (48 – 480Hz ‘Dual Mode’) VRR range plus LFC. Games consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X can leverage a 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD signal with VRR. Other aspects of the specification include; 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour. The monitor is ‘flicker-free’ with 99.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut specified, alongside 330 cd/m² (1500 cd/m² HDR Peak) typical maximum luminance. A factory calibration is included with specified DeltaE <2, with a 0.03ms grey to grey response time also specified. Passive cooling is facilitated via a heatsink, rather than the screen relying on a cooling fan. The 3-year warranty includes burn-in cover, for peace of mind.
Integrated ‘Smart Pixel’ AI upscaling can help enhance the image for lower resolution devices, whilst the monitor can output HDR10 content in a dynamic way. It offers key strengths such as per-pixel dimming, 10-bit colour and a generous gamut. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified – requiring higher brightness levels, including full screen white brightness, than the more common True Black 400 certification. HDR settings with higher peak brightness are also included. At the rear, a customisable pixel effect ‘Aura’ RGB LED ROG logo is included towards the right side. The included stand attaches centrally via a quick-release mechanism and includes tilt, swivel and height (110mm or 4.33 inches) adjustment. 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is facilitated as an alternative, with an adaptor bracket included in the box. The ports face downwards and include; 2 HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps) ports, DP 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports (plus Type-B upstream) and an AC power input (internal power converter).
Further details can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is due early Q3 2026, further details including pricing still to come.
