OLED monitors are very attractive for gaming, combining excellent image quality and responsiveness. The AOC AGON Pro AGP277QKDC provides this, with updated coated metal stand base that’s more compact and symmetrical than the usual AGON Pro design. Slim dual-stage bezels feature, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer part. As usual for an OLED, there’s also an overprovisioning of pixels (active area) between the image and panel border to facilitate one of the burn-in mitigation measures. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear, towards the right side as viewed from the front. Two quick access shortcut key are also included.

Compact symmetrical stand base

A 26.5″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) LG Display Tandem WOLED panel is used with 540Hz (‘Dual Mode’ with 720Hz FHD or 1080p) refresh rate and VRR support, via both Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR. This allows VRR technologies including Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’, which the monitor is officially certified for, and AMD FreeSync to be used. A 48 – 540Hz (48 – 720Hz FHD) VRR range plus LFC. Other aspects of note include; a matte anti-glare screen surface, 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour. The screen is ‘flicker-free’ with 99.5% DCI-P3 coverage (95.9% Adobe RGB coverage, 150.9% sRGB volume) specified, alongside 335 cd/m² typical maximum luminance (1500 cd/m² HDR peak at 1.5% APL, 600 cd/m² at 10% APL). The monitor can provide a lively HDR10 experience, making potentially good use of its generous gamut plus 10-bit colour processing with relatively strong peak brightness. VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification is included – requiring higher brightness levels, including full screen white brightness, than the more common True Black 400 certification. HDR settings with higher peak brightness are also included.

A 0.03ms grey to grey response time is specified, with a ‘Low Input Lag’ setting also available. ‘Low Blue Light’ settings are available and an sRGB setting with specified DeltaE <1 is included. At the rear, customisable 'Light FX' RGB LED lighting elements feature. The stand can be removed to reveal for provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting, with the stand provided offering full ergonomic flexibility - including a generous 150mm (5.91 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. The ports face downwards and include; 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 2.1 (UHBR 20), USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 3 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports (plus Type-B upstream), a 3.5mm headphone jack and AC power input (internal power converter). The monitor supports KVM and PbP/PbP, with 2 x 5W speakers also included. A 3-year warranty including burn-in cover is included for peace of mind.
