Further information on supporting our work.OLED models are often sought after for entertainment usage, but their excellent colour performance is also useful for content creation. The ASUS ProArt Display OLED PA32UCDM is built with accurate colour output in mind, featuring a minimalistic design including small footprint stand. The top and side bezels are dual-stage with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. An overprovisioning of pixels or ‘active area’ surrounds the image, used for pixel shifting which is one of the included image retention mitigation measures. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and accompanying shortcut buttons beneath the central region of the bottom bezel. The monitor also appears to have a proximity sensor in this region, allowing the screen to dim or shut off if nobody is detected in front of it.
A 31.5″ Samsung Display QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) panel is used with glossy anti-reflective screen surface, 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) resolution and support for up to 240Hz. For games consoles such as the Xbox Series X and PS5, HDMI 2.1 allows up to 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD (plus HDMI 2.1 VRR) to be used. We’d expect Adaptive-Sync to be supported alongside HDMI 2.1 VRR, allowing technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used with compatible PC and console hardware. A 150,000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and true 10-bit colour are specified for the panel. Factory calibration with specified DeltaE <1 is included, with ASUS ProArt Hardware Calibration Technology allowing the monitor to be calibrated directly with a compatible colorimeter or spectrophotometer.
‘Flicker-free’ illumination is included, with 250 cd/m² (1000 cd/m² HDR peak, 3% APL) typical maximum luminance and 99% DCI-P3 coverage. Colour space emulation with multiple gamuts is expected. A dynamic HDR10 experience is offered with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification included alongside additional HDR settings. In addition to HDR10 content, the monitor supports Dolby Vision and HLG. Under HDR the screen can make good use of its per-pixel dimming and high brightness peaks alongside generous gamut and 10-bit+ colour support. A 0.1ms grey to grey response time is specified, with OLED technology known for exceptional pixel responsiveness. The stand attaches centrally using a quick-release mechanism and can be removed to reveal provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. The included stand offers full ergonomic flexibility. The ports face downwards and include but aren’t limited to; DP, HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4 (96W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data) and additional USB-C ports.
