The combination of ‘4K’ UHD resolution and medium refresh rate can be appreciated for both work and play. The AOC U32G3X (U32G3X/BK owing to the black stand base) offers this experience, including HDMI 2.1 support to broaden the appeal. This provides support for a ‘4K’ UHD 120Hz signal for devices including the Xbox Series X and PS5. The monitor has a matte black ‘star-shaped’ stand design, with short feet at the back and longer feet at the front. Some dark metallic-effect red elements are included for a bit of extra flair. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons which face downwards towards the right side of the bottom bezel.

A 31.5″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) IPS-type panel is used, with support for a 144Hz refresh rate and VRR via Adaptive-Sync and presumably HDMI 2.1 VRR. Technologies such as AMD FreeSync and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ can be used, with 48 – 144Hz VRR range plus LFC. Other aspects of note include a matte screen surface, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) colour support. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 95% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are included, potentially improving viewing comfort.

A 1ms grey to grey response time is specified (approach with caution) plus a 1ms MPRT response time using the included MBR strobe backlight setting. ‘Low Input Lag’ is also mentioned on the product page. The included stand provides tilt, swivel and 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment. It can be removed via quick-release mechanism to reveal provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. The ports face downwards and include; 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, 2 DP 1.4 (with DSC) ports, a 3.5mm audio output and AC power input (internal power converter). 2-system PiP/PbP is also supported.
