Further information on supporting our work.High refresh rate 1440p IPS models offering a good mixture of image quality and responsiveness for gaming, whilst remaining versatile choices for productivity as well. The AOC Q27G4SRU offers this, providing a 320Hz QHD IPS experience. The monitor has a simple low-profile stand base, with a red plastic cable tidy on the stand neck for a bit of visual contrast. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons on the underside of the bottom bezel, towards the right side.
A 27″ IPS panel is used with 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) resolution and support for a 320Hz refresh rate. VRR support is included via Adaptive-Sync, allowing technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used with 48 – 320Hz VRR range plus LFC. HDMI 2.1 VRR support is also offered, allowing VRR to be used on devices such as the PS5 which don’t support Adaptive-Sync. A matte anti-glare screen surface is included, whilst a flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 450 cd/m² typical maximum luminance alongside 93.7% DCI-P3 (129.3% sRGB) colour gamut. Low Blue Low (LBL) settings also feature, promoting a potentially more relaxing viewing experience. The monitor responds to HDR10 content in a basic way, at the VESA DisplayHDR 400 level. It lacks specified local dimming or a high brightness by HDR standards, but the reasonable gamut can be put to potentially good use alongside 10-bit colour processing.
A 1ms grey to grey response time is specified alongside a 0.3ms MPRT response time (using the MBR Sync strobe backlight setting). This can be used alongside VRR, if you wish. ‘Low Input Lag’ is also specified. The stand is fully adjustable, including 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is also supported, with the stand quickly detachable using a quick-release mechanism. The ports mainly face downwards and include; an AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (1 with fast-charging, plus Type-B upstream). 3 of these USB-A ports are found on the right side (as viewed from the front), for easy access. 2 x 2W speakers are also included for basic sound reproduction.
Further details can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed with an MSRP of £249.99. No current confirmation on US release.
