Further information on supporting our work. The 21:9 ultrawide experience is one some find very enjoyable, with OLED panels sweetening the deal further. The AOC AGON Pro AG346UCD offers this, with the usual gaming flair associated with the series. This includes a broad silver-coloured ‘penguin foot’ stand and dark matte plastic bottom bezel. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with fairly slender panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. An ‘active area’ (overprovisioning of pixels) between the image and panel border is included as an image retention mitigation measure. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
A 34″ 3440 x 1440 (21:9 ultrawide) Samsung Display QD-OLED panel is used with support for a 175Hz refresh rate, alongside VRR via Adaptive-Sync. Technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ can be used, with 48 – 175Hz VRR range plus LFC supported. A 1800R (moderate) curve is included to draw you into the experience a bit without feeling unnatural. The usual glossy QD-OLED screen surface is used, whilst a 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour are specified. The screen is flicker-free with 99.3% DCI-P3 and 97.8% Adobe RGB coverage, alongside a 250 cd/m² typical maximum luminance (1000 cd/m² HDR peak, 3% APL specified for panel). A 0.03ms grey to grey response time is specified, which as usual you shouldn’t take too seriously. Though OLED technology is certainly known for its exceptional pixel responsiveness. ‘Low Input Lag’ is also specified.
The monitor offers a dynamic HDR10 response, putting its per-pixel dimming and very wide gamut to potentially good use alongside 10-bit colour reproduction. The screen is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified, with some HDR modes offering some strong brightness peaks as well. The included stand offers tilt, swivel and height (130mm or 5.12 inches) adjustment. Provision for alternative 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is also offered via an included adaptor. The monitor includes a pentagon of ‘Light FX’ RGB LEDs around the stand attachment point, which can be customised. The ports mainly face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.4, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (with fast-charging, plus Type-B upstream) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. At the left side (as viewed from the front) there are 2 additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. A fairly powerful integrated sound system is included, with 2 x 8W speakers. PbP/PbP is also supported.
Further details can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed with an MSRP ~£670 (~$800 USD).
