There are a range of potential benefits to the ‘4K’ UHD resolution, even on a 27″ screen. The Acer XV275K P3 of the Nitro XV5 series offers that, with features such as a high refresh rate and strong HDR performance also brought into the mix. Designed with both PC and console users in mind, it also features HDMI 2.1. This provides a ‘4K’ UHD @120Hz signal (and likely integrated VRR support) for devices including the Xbox Series X and PS5. Many of the styling elements are similar to the new Predator models, such as the X27U OLED. The stand includes brushed metal with a slightly rounded variation of the company’s ‘Dragon Claw’ design. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen pus slender hard plastic outer component. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons beneath the right side of the bottom bezel.

A 27″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) IPS-type panel is used, likely from the AUO M270QAN07 family. A matte anti-glare screen surface is adopted, with 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour specified. A 160Hz refresh rate is supported alongside Adaptive-Sync – including Nvidia’s ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync Premium with 48 – 160Hz (or possibly 48 – 144Hz) VRR range plus LFC assumed. A flicker-free QD Mini LED backlight with 576 dimming zones provides a 600 cd/m² (1000 cd/m² HDR peak) typical maximum luminance and 99% Adobe RGB colour gamut. A factory-calibrated sRGB setting is included with specified DeltaE <2. The monitor responds to HDR10 content in a dynamic way, at the DisplayHDR 1000 level. This allows the powerful backlight to be put to good use with high brightness and effective local dimming. It also allows the screen to put its 10-bit colour support and generous colour gamut to good use.

A 1ms grey to grey response time is specified, which you shouldn’t put much weight on. The stand is fully adjustable, including 150mm (5.91 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. It can be detached to reveal provision for 75 x 75mm VESA mounting. A crescent of RGB LEDs are located above the attachment point. The ports face downwards beneath a removable plastic cover and include; DC power input (external ‘power brick’), 2 USB 3.0 ports (plus Type-B upstream), USB-C (90W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), DP 1.4 (with DSC), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and a 3.5mm audio output. The monitor supports KVM for easy display input switching and USB peripheral switching between 2 systems.

Further details on the Nitro XV5 series can be found on the manufacturers website, but this model lacks its own product page currently. Based on information from its low-key unveiling at CES 2023, the monitor is expected from Q2 2023. It’s listed for ~5000 Chinese Yuan on Taobao where a lot of information on this news piece was sourced and listed on Acer’s US product page for ~$800 USD.
