Further information on supporting our work. The ‘4K’ UHD resolution is well-suited to the ~32” screen size, offering a comfortable pixel density that brings a definite ‘UHD feel’ to the image without necessitating high levels (if any) scaling. There are two panel type paths at the moment for ~32” UHD models; IPS or VA (or variants thereof). The LG 32UL750 (32UL750-W with white rear and silver stand) adopts a 31.5” VA panel with the UHD resolution, offering an alternative to the ‘Nano IPS’ 32UL950. The ‘Edge-ArcLine’ crescent-shaped stand design of both models is similar, although there is a key aesthetic difference with the bezels that is dictated by the panel used. Here, a reasonably slim single-stage bezel is used as that covers pretty much the entire panel border. As opposed to the slimmer bezel and visible panel border (‘dual-stage bezel design’) of the ‘950’. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick mounted centrally, beneath the bottom bezel.
The monitor uses a 31.5” ‘4K’ 3840 x 2160 ‘4K’ UHD VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, more specifically a variant of the InnoLux M315DJJ AAS (Azimulthal Anchoring Switch) VA-type panel. This is accompanied by a 60Hz refresh rate, 3000:1 typical static contrast and 178°/178° viewing angles. A medium (‘relatively light’) matte anti-glare screen surface is employed, offering good glare handling. AMD FreeSync is also supported, via Adaptive-Sync on the monitor. The variable refresh rate range is currently unknown. True 10-bit colour is supported, without dithering (1.07 billion colours). A WLED backlight is employed, offering a wide colour gamut (95% DCI-P3) and a typical maximum luminance of 400 cd/m². This can be boosted to 600 cd/m²+ for HDR content. The monitor supports the HDR10 pipeline, more specifically VESA DisplayHDR 600. This puts its colour processing capabilities, colour gamut and luminance boost to good use. The standard also necessitates effective local dimming on the backlight, allowing it to split itself into various independently controlled dimming zones to enhance contrast. The panel used and capabilities are ultimately very similar to the Philips 328P6VUBREB which we’ve reviewed. A 4ms grey to grey response time is specified, which especially given the panel type should be largely ignored. A ‘Reader Mode’ Low Blue Light (LBL) setting is included to aid relaxing viewing.
The rear of the monitor is white, with a fully adjustable stand mounted centrally. The stand offers tilt and height adjustment and can be replaced by an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution if preferred. The ports face backwards and include; DP 1.4, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, USB Type-C (60W PD), 2 USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Integrated 5W stereo speakers are also included. Further information is available on LG’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$460.
