Some users are very drawn to large screens, for both work and play. The immersive experience and good work space offered, especially with a high resolution added into the mix, can be very appealing. The Philips 325E8 offers this expansive and immersive experience. The monitor has a fairly minimalistic appearance, with a silver-coloured inwards-facing crescent stand base and slender silver stand neck. This is likely powder-coated metal, as seen on the 276E8VJSB. The bezels are of moderate thickness all around the screen, glossy black plastic with a single stage design that conceals the panel border. The bottom bezel is somewhat thicker than the top and side bezels, with a protruding transparent central ‘tag’ including Philips logo. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick behind this ‘tag’.

The monitor uses a 31.5″ VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, with 2560 x 1440 resolution and 75Hz refresh rate. Adaptive-Sync also features, with a 48 – 75Hz variable refresh rate range. A 3000:1 static contrast is specified alongside (somewhat unusually) 176° horizontal and vertical viewing angles and 5ms grey to grey response time. A matte anti-glare screen surface is included for effective glare-handling, whilst 10-bit colour is supported. A flicker-free WLED backlight with ~sRGB colour space coverage and a 250 cd/m² typical maximum luminance is used. ‘LowBlue Mode’ Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are also included, promoting a more relaxing viewing experience. The rear of the monitor is largely glossy black plastic. The included stand offers tilt as the only ergonomic flexibility, although VESA holes are included for alternative mounting. The ports face backwards and include; AC power input (internal power adaptor), DVI-D, HDMI 1.4, DP 1.2a, VGA and 3.5mm audio output.
