For some, strong HDR output is key to the entertainment experience for either games or movie watching. The INNOCN 27M2U-D is designed with this in mind, with a powerful Mini LED backlight solution providing strong brightness and effective local dimming. The monitor differs from most others aesthetically with white and silver-coloured plastic used extensively. The top and side bezels adopt the usual dual-stage design with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen and thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons beneath the bottom bezel, at the right side. An integrated light sensor allows the monitor to adjust brightness according to ambient lighting.

A silver look

A 27” IPS-type panel is adopted with 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) resolution and support for a 60Hz refresh rate. HDMI 2.1 VRR may feature as ‘HDMI 2.1’ is listed, but the exact capabilities of the port (aside from 60Hz maximum refresh rate) isn’t clear from the specifications. A matte anti-glare screen surface is adopted and 178°/178° viewing angles plus 10-bit colour specified. The monitor is factory calibrated with specified DeltaE <2. A Quantum Dot Mini LED backlight with 1152 dimming zones provides a 450 cd/m² (1000 cd/m² HDR peak) luminance and 99% DCI-P3 (99% Adobe RGB) colour gamut. VESA DisplayHDR 1000 support is provided, allowing the screen to make use of 10-bit colour processing and also put its powerful Mini LED backlight solution and generous gamut to good use. The stand attaches with a quick-release mechanism and can be removed to reveal 100 x 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting. The stand is fully adjustable, including height adjustment (120mm or 4.72 inches) and pivot into portrait. The ports face downwards and include; DC power input (external 'power brick'), a 3.5mm audio output, USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode), DP 1.4 and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. The monitor is listed for ~$600 USD.
