The MSI MAG 274QF X24 is one such offering, designed for a mixture of performance and affordability. The screen has a homely design with lots of dark matte plastic. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS-type panel is used, with 240Hz refresh rate supported alongside Adaptive-Sync. VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync Premium are supported with 48 – 240Hz VRR range plus LFC. Other aspects of note include a matte anti-glare screen surface, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) colour support. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 250 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 96% DCI-P3 (93% Adobe RGB, 130% sRGB) colour gamut. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are included for a potentially more relaxing viewing experience. Basic HDR10 support is offered, with the screen able to use 10-bit colour processing and put its reasonable DCI-P3 gamut to work. But without high brightness levels and without local dimming specified. A 0.5ms grey to grey response time is specified, with an MPRT strobe backlight setting also included. The stand is tilt-only, with 100 x 100mm VESA provision included for alternative mounting. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), a 3.5mm headphone jack, DP 1.4 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports.
