Further information on supporting our work.~32″ ‘4K’ UHD OLEDs provide provide an immersive and contrast-rich experience. The LG UltraGear 32GX870B-B (‘UltraGear AI’) offers this, with a focus on responsive gaming from its 240Hz ‘4K’ (480Hz FHD) panel. The monitor offers minimalistic styling, with low-profile metal base and slender dual-stage bezels. These include a slender panel border flush with the rest of the screen and thin hard outer part. As is typical for an OLED, there’s also an overprovisioning of pixels (active area) between the image and panel border to facilitate one of the burn-in mitigation measures. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath the central region of the bottom bezel.
Note: The image below is a misleading marketing image with a superimposed image covering the panel border, making the bezels appear ‘impossibly’ slim. Actual bezels look more like this (image showing top and sides only).
A 31.5″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) LG Display ‘Tandem WOLED’ panel is used with 240Hz (‘Dual Mode’ with 480Hz FHD or 1080p) refresh rate and VRR support, via both Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR. This allows VRR technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used, with 48 – 240Hz (48 – 480Hz FHD) VRR range plus LFC. Games consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X can use a 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD signal with VRR. The monitor includes a matte anti-glare screen surface and has a 1.85m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles, 10-bit colour and a 0.03ms grey to grey response time. The screen is ‘flicker-free’ with 99.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut specified, alongside 335 cd/m² typical maximum luminance (1500 cd/m² HDR peak at 1.5% APL). The monitor can put its generous gamut to good use alongside 10-bit colour and some good brightness peaks, for a dynamic HDR10 experience. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified – requiring higher brightness levels, including full screen white brightness, than the more common True Black 400 certification. An HDR mode with higher peak brightness is also included.
Hardware calibration is supported via LG Calibration Studio, whilst the factory calibration has a specified DeltaE ≤2. An AI upscaling feature is also included, designed for devices which don’t support the native resolution. A ‘Unity Hexagon Lighting’ RGB LED lighting feature surrounds the stand attachment point, with the included stand offering full adjustability including 110mm (4.33 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is supported for alternative mounting. The ports include; 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 2.1 (UHBR20), USB-C (90W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 2 USB 3.0 ports and a DC power input (external ‘power brick’). A downwards facing 4-pole 3.5mm headphone jack is also included, whilst 2 x 7W speakers are included with ‘AI Sound’ setting designed to enhance clarity and sound separation.

Further details (Japanese, requires translation) can be found on some regional websites from the manufacturer. The monitor is available from June 2026, listed ~$1100 USD equivalent.
