Further information on supporting our work.QHD IPS models are diverse choices for both work and play. The Gigabyte M27Q3 is one such offering, designed to appease even competitive gamers with its 320Hz IPS panel. The monitor has a dark silver coloured coated metal stand with sleek modern design, including a low-profile base and slender neck. The top and side bezels are dual-stage with slim panel border surrounding the image, plus hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a central ‘Tactical Switch 2.0’ joystick beneath the bottom bezel.
A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS panel is used, with 320Hz (300Hz + mild factory overclock) refresh rate supported alongside Adaptive-Sync and presumably HDMI 2.1 VRR. Technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync can be used, with assumed 48 – 320Hz VRR range plus LFC. HDMI 2.1 VRR support (assumed) allows systems such as the PS5 which lack Adaptive-Sync support to use VRR and for ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used via HDMI. A matte anti-glare screen surface is included, whilst a 1000:1 static contrast, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour are specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 95% DCI-P3 (132% sRGB) colour gamut. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are also included for potentially more relaxing viewing.
A 1ms grey to grey response time is specified, whilst an ‘Aim Stabilizer Sync’ strobe backlight setting is included to minimise motion blur. This can be used in conjunction with VRR, if you wish. The monitor responds to HDR10 content in a simple way (VESA DisplayHDR 400), using its 10-bit colour reproduction and putting its reasonable gamut to use. But it lacks high brightness levels by HDR standards and no local dimming is specified. The stand is fully adjustable, including 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. Alternatively, you can remove the stand via quick-release catch and use a 100 x 100mm VESA compatible alternative. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4, USB-C (18W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports (plus Type-B upstream) and a 3.5mm microphone jack. 2 x 5W speakers are included for sound output, whilst KVM is supported for easy USB peripheral sharing and display input switching between 2 systems.
Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~£330.
