The BenQ RD240Q provides this, as a so-called ‘Programming Monitor’ designed to maximise productivity for programming and coding workflows. The monitor offers simple and smart styling, with rectangular matte silver stand base and matte grey ridged-texture bottom bezel. The top and side bezels are dual-stage with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. An underhanging sensor suite provides control of the OSD (On Screen Display), with a range of touch-sensitive shortcut keys alongside a joystick for directional navigation. ‘Brightness Intelligence Gen2’ functionality is included, allowing the screen to automatically adjust parameters such as brightness and colour temperature according to ambient lighting conditions. A proximity sensor is also included, allowing the screen to dim or shut off if nobody is detected in front of the screen.
A 24.1″ 2560 x 1600 (16:10, WQXGA) IPS-type panel is adopted with support for a 60Hz refresh rate and matte anti-glare screen surface. Other aspects of note include a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and a flicker-free WLED backlight providing ~sRGB colour space coverage and a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. A range of Low Blue Light (LBL) settings and a ‘Night Hours Protection’ feature are included to promote a more relaxing viewing experience, with some coding-specific presets also included. These help certain code elements stand out more clearly or invert bright backgrounds (enforced ‘Dark Theme’). The stand attaches centrally and can be removed to reveal provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. Some of the ports face backwards in a deeply recessed area beneath the stand attachment point and include; HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4, USB-C (90W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data) and AC power input (internal power converter). At the bottom of the screen, to the right of the OSD controls for easy access, there are 3 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports plus a 3.5mm headphone jack. Integrated speakers are also included, for basic sound output. The monitor is listed for ~$380 USD.
