Further information on supporting our work.Competitive gamers (and others who enjoy a very fluid experience) can really benefit from high refresh rate OLEDs. The AOC AGON PRO AG276QKD2 is one such offering, a QD-OLED model sporting a 500Hz refresh rate. The monitor includes an asymmetric coated metal polygonal stand design, a signature of the series. Dual-stage bezels frame the monitor at the top and sides, offering a black panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer part. As usual for an OLED an overprovisioning of pixels (‘active area’) sits between the panel border and image, with the image periodically shifting very slightly in one direction at a time to help mitigate image retention. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
A 26.5″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) Samsung Display QD-OLED panel is used with 500Hz refresh. VRR support is included via Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR, allowing VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used – with a 48 – 500Hz VRR range plus LFC. VRR can also be used on the PS5. The usual glossy anti-reflective QD-OLED screen surface is used, whilst the screen has a specified 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour. The screen is ‘flicker-free’ with 99.1% DCI-P3 (147.6% sRGB, 98% Adobe RGB) colour gamut specified alongside a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance (1000 cd/m² HDR peak at 3% APL, 515 cd/m² at 10% APL). A dynamic HDR10 experience is provided, with the monitor able to make potentially excellent use of its per-pixel dimming and generous gamut, alongside 10-bit colour. This model is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified – requiring higher brightness levels, including full screen white brightness, than the more common True Black 400 certification. An HDR mode with higher peak brightness is also included.
The monitor has a specified 0.03ms grey to grey response time, with OLED technology is known to be very strong in this respect. The stand is fully adjustable, including height (130mm or 5.12 inches) adjustment and pivot into portrait. Customisable ‘Light FX’ RGB LED lighting is included around the attachment point. The stand can be removed using a quick-release mechanism and replaced with an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA solution – an adaptor is included in the box. The screen is passively cooled rather than relying on a cooling fan. The ports face downwards beneath the stand attachment point and include; DC power input (external ‘power brick’), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 2.1 (UHBR 20), 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports (1 with fast-charging) plus Type-B upstream and a 3.5mm headphone jack. 2 x 5W speakers are also included, for potentially quite rich sound output.

Further details on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed with an MSRP of £679.00.
