For those seeking speed above image quality, TN can be the LCD technology of choice. The AOC AGON AG246FK6 features a 610Hz TN eSports panel, designed for a responsive experience. The monitor includes a fairly compact coated metal polygonal stand design, with slim dual-stage bezels at the top and side. These include a slender panel border flush with the rest of the screen as well as a hard outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear, towards the right side as viewed from the front. A retractable headphone hook is found at the left side.

Compact stand design

A 24.1″ TN eSports panel is included with 1920 x 1080 (Full HD or 1080p) resolution and support for a 610Hz (600Hz + mild factory overclock) refresh rate. VRR is supported via Adaptive-Sync, allowing technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used, with 60 – 610Hz VRR range plus LFC. A matte anti-glare screen surface is used, with 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 8-bit colour and 176°/170° viewing angles specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight is included, offering a 93.6% DCI-P3 (125.1% sRGB) colour gamut and 500 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. Basic HDR10 support is included at the VESA DisplayHDR 400 level, allowing the monitor to put its gamut to good use and for 10-bit colour processing to be used. It doesn’t require a high brightness by HDR standards and no local dimming is specified, however.

A 0.5ms grey to grey response time is specified, alongside 0.5ms MPRT response time using the included MBR+ strobe backlight setting. MBR+ includes finer backlight control with its ‘dual backlight design’, helping minimise strobe crosstalk at different areas of the screen. ‘Low Input Lag’ is also specified. The stand is fully adjustable, including 130mm (5.12 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. Customisable ‘Light FX’ RGB LED lighting is included around the attachment point, with provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting also included. The ports mainly face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (one with fast charging, plus Type-B upstream). At the left side, as viewed from the front, there are 2 additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
