Further information on supporting our work.A ~24″ Full HD screen can be a suitable companion to some systems, desks and budgets. A wide range of models are available with this size and resolution – the Acer XV252Q LV (XV252Q LVbmiiprx) is amongst those, focused on a fluid gaming experience. The monitor is a member of the Nitro XV2 series and has the usual associated simple styling. This includes a weighted circular stand base coated in matte plastic and cylindrical coated metal stand neck. The bottom bezel is textured matte black plastic, whilst the top and side bezels have a dual-stage ‘ZeroFrame’ design. They include a slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen and a thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and accompanying buttons at the rear, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
The monitor uses a 24.5″ 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) IPS-type panel. This is accompanied by a 165Hz refresh rate, with Adaptive-Sync supported – including AMD FreeSync Premium with 48 – 165Hz VRR range plus LFC. A matte anti-glare screen surface is adopted with a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 8-bit colour support. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance – no colour gamut is specified, so ~sRGB coverage (standard gamut) is assumed. As a model with ‘LV’ included in its suffix, TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certification is included. The monitor has its blue peak shifted to less energetic wavelengths and the amplitude of the peak reduced to potentially enhance viewing comfort. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are included to promote a more relaxing viewing experience.
A 2ms (‘0.5ms min’) grey to grey response time is specified, which as usual you shouldn’t pay much attention to. The stand is fully adjustable, including 120mm (4.72 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. It attaches centrally via a quick-release mechanism and can be removed to reveal 100 x 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting. The ports face downwards and include; 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.2a and a 3.5mm headphone jack. 2 x 2W speakers are included for basic sound output.
Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$300 USD.
