The ‘4K’ UHD resolution brings several benefits. Combining this with a decent HDR experience and high refresh rate can really hit the sweet spot for some users. That’s exactly what the Acer XB273K LV (XB273K LVbmiipruzx) achieves for both PC and modern games console users. With HDMI 2.1 allowing it to run ‘4K’ UHD @120Hz on compatible games consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. It shares the styling elements of some others in the Predator series, including a wide-footed coated metal stand base and a red stripe where the base and stand neck joins. The bottom bezel is moderately thick, with a dark grey matte plastic finish. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with a slender panel border flush with the rest of the screen. And a slim hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and buttons running down the rear of the monitor, towards the right side as viewed from in front.

A 27″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) IPS-type panel is used. This supports a 160Hz refresh rate, alongside Adaptive-Sync – including AMD FreeSync Premium with a 48 – 160Hz VRR range plus LFC assumed. Other aspects to note include a ~1000:1 static contrast, 10-bit colour support (8-bit + FRC), 178°/178° viewing angles and an expected light to very light matte anti-glare screen surface. The monitor includes a factory calibrated sRGB emulation setting with a specified DeltaE <1. The flicker-free WLED backlight solution provides a 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance (600 cd/m² HDR peak) and 95% DCI-P3 colour gamut. The monitor is 'Eyesafe' certified by TÜV Rheinland, with the blue peak shifted to less energetic wavelengths and the amplitude of the peak reduced to potentially improve viewing comfort. Traditional Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are also included to promote a more relaxing viewing experience.

VESA DisplayHDR 600 support is included, with a degree of local dimming allowing a situational boost to contrast. And allowing the reasonably high luminance levels, 10-bit colour processing and generous colour gamut to do their thing for HDR10 content. As usual you shouldn’t pay too much attention to specified response times, but in this case a 1ms or ‘up to 0.5ms’ grey to grey response time is specified. The manufacturer includes their highly adjustable ‘ErgoStand’, which includes the usual tilt alongside swivel, height adjustment and pivot into portrait. The stand can be quickly detached using the quick-release mechanism to reveal 100 x 100mm VESA holes. The ports mainly face downwards and include; DC power (external ‘power brick’), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4, USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), a 3.5mm audio output and 2 USB 3.0 ports (plus 2 upstream). 2 additional USB 3.0 ports are located at the left side of the monitor, as viewed from the front. 3-device KVM support is assumed based on the upstream capability, allowing easy USB peripheral and display signal swapping between multiple systems. 2 x 2W speakers are also included for basic audio output.
