Medium refresh rate ‘4K’ UHD models are popular for both PC and console gamers, with good versatility for some work on the side as well. The Acer Predator XB273K V3 (XB273K V3bmiiprx) is designed with this in mind, including HDMI 2.1 to provide a 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD signal to devices including the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The monitor includes a crescent-shaped dark silver coated metal stand, with top and side bezels adopting the popular dual-stage design. There’s a slender panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer component. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and buttons at the rear of the screen, running vertically downwards towards the right side as viewed from the front.

A 27″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) IPS-type panel is included, with support for a 160Hz refresh rate and Adaptive-Sync. This allows VRR technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used, with 48 – 160Hz VRR range plus LFC. Other aspects of note include a matte anti-glare screen surface, 1000:1 static contrast ratio and 178°/178° viewing angles. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 95% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. The screen offers a basic response to HDR10 content, with VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. This allows 10-bit colour processing to be used and for the decent DCI-P3 coverage to be put to good use. Local dimming is not required and brightness is quite limited by HDR standards, however. An ‘up to’ 0.5ms grey to grey response time is specified, which as usual should be taken with a large pinch of salt. The included stand has a quick-release mechanism to allow easy replacement by an alternative VESA 100 compatible solution, if you wish. The included stand is fully adjustable, including height adjustment (5.90 inches or 150mm) and pivot into portrait. The ports face downwards and include; DP 1.4 (with DSC), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. 2 x 2W speakers are also included for basic sound reproduction.
