Further information on supporting our work. There are quite a few models available combining the ‘4K’ UHD resolution and ~32″ screen size with 144Hz+ refresh rate. The Acer Predator X32Q FS provides this, with a focus on a dynamic HDR experience and good connectivity. This includes HDMI 2.1 support for 120Hz ‘4K’ output on games consoles such as the Xbox Series S and PS5. The monitor has Predator styling cues, with a curved ‘Dragon Claw’ base which is coated metal for a solid and premium feel. The top and side bezels are dual-stage with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons and a joystick at the rear of the screen, running down the right side as viewed from the front.
A 32” IPS-type panel is adopted with 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) resolution, with Acer confirming the monitor is based on BOE IPS-ADS technology. A 150Hz refresh rate is supported alongside Adaptive-Sync, allowing technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used with a 48 – 150Hz VRR range plus LFC assumed. HDMI 2.1 VRR should also be offered. Other aspects of note include a 1200:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour support. A light to very light matte anti-glare screen surface is expected. A flicker-free Quantum Dot Mini LED backlight delivers a ≥99% Adobe RGB colour gamut and 1200 cd/m² peak HDR luminance, with 1152 dimming zones. Twice as many dimming zones as the FALD backlight solution used on the X32 FP. A factory calibrated sRGB emulation mode is also included, with a specified DeltaE <1. VESA DisplayHDR 1000 support is offered, which allows the screen to make use of 10-bit colour processing and also put its powerful Mini LED backlight solution and generous gamut to good use.
A 1ms grey to grey response time is specified, which should be approached with caution as usual. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are also included to promote a more relaxing viewing experience. The stand attaches centrally and can be removed with 100 x 100mm VESA and support included. The included stand is fully adjustable, including 150mm (5.91 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. The ports mainly face downwards and include; DP 1.4 (with DSC), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), a 3.5mm audio output, 3.5mm audio input and 2 USB 3.0 ports (plus Type-B upstream). 2 additional USB 3.0 ports are found at the left side as viewed from the front. KVM support is also included, allowing easy USB device sharing and display input switching between 2 systems. 2 x 7W speakers are also included.
