27″ QHD models provide a nice balance for gaming and general desktop usage, with increased refresh rates making such models even more attractive. The Acer Nitro XV271U M3 (XV271U M3bmiiprx) offers this, in 180Hz IPS flavour. The styling is similar to other Nitro models. This includes a weighted round stand base, cylindrical matte black coated metal neck and matte black plastic bottom bezel. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer component. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by buttons and a joystick running down the rear of the monitor, at the right side as viewed from the front.

Familiar Nitro style

A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS-type panel is used, with matte anti-glare screen surface. More specifically, the monitor is based on the AUO M270DAN08.D AHVA panel. A 180Hz refresh rate is supported complete with Adaptive-Sync, allowing VRR technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used with a possible 40 – 180Hz VRR range plus LFC. Other aspects of note include a 1000:1 static contrast ratio and 178°/178° viewing angles. A flicker-free QD LED backlight provides a 95% DCI-P3 colour gamut, with Low Blue Light (LBL) settings included to promote enhanced viewing comfort. An ‘up to’ 0.5ms grey to grey response time is specified, which as usual you should pay little attention to. The included stand is fully adjustable, including 120mm (4.72″) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. This stand can be removed and replaced by an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution, if preferred. The ports face downwards and include; DP 1.2, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. 2 x 2W speakers are included for basic sound output.

VESA mounting as an option

Further information is available on select retail websites, with the monitor listed for ~$300 USD.
