The LG UltraFine 27US500-W provides such an experience, in a simple minimalistic package. This includes a compact white-coloured stand. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with fairly slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath the central region of the bottom bezel.
A 27″ IPS-type panel is used with 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) resolution, matte anti-glare screen surface and 60Hz refresh rate. A 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour are specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 90% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are included to potentially aid viewing comfort. Basic HDR10 support is included, allowing 10-bit colour processing to be used and the gamut to be put to good use, though the gamut itself and brightness is limited by HDR standards. And no local dimming is specified. A 5ms grey to grey response time is specified, with Dynamic Action Sync (DAS) also noted as a nod towards low input lag. The included stand is tilt-only, with 100 x 100mm VESA provision included for alternative mounting. The ports face backwards in a recessed area towards the right of the removable ‘VESA cover’ and include; DP 1.4, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack and DC power input (external ‘power brick’).
Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$250 USD.
