OLED monitors are very attractive for gaming, including competitively. The Sony INZONE M10S (SDM-27Q10S) is built with this in mind, with a high refresh rate OLED panel. The monitor offers minimalistic styling, with plenty of dark matte materials used and a small circular stand base. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the right side as viewed from the front.

Minimalistic stand design

A 26.5″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) LG Display WOLED panel is used with 480Hz refresh rate and RGWB subpixel layout. This is an improved layout which reduces fringing compared to the original RWBG layout. A matte anti-glare screen surface is adopted and 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour support specified. VRR is supported via Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1 VRR, including Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync. The monitor is flicker-free with TÜV Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution) certification, due to the peak of blue light being shifted to less energetic wavelengths to aid viewing comfort. A 98.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut is specified, alongside 275 cd/m² (1300 cd/m² HDR peak) typical maximum luminance.

A dynamic HDR10 experience can be provided with the generous DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit colour and per-pixel illumination put to good use. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified for HDR10, with HLG supported as an alternative HDR standard. A custom heatsink provides passive cooling, rather than an active cooling fan being required. A 0.03ms grey to grey response time is specified, which as usual you shouldn’t pay too much attention to. OLED technology is known for exceptional pixel responsiveness, however. The stand includes tilt, swivel (180° left, 180° right) and height (130mm or 5.12 inches) adjustment. 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is supported as an alternative. The ports face downwards and include; a 3.5mm headphone jack, 2 USB 3.0 ports (plus Type-B upstream), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, ‘DP 2.1’ (UHBR10, limited bandwidth) and a dedicated USB 3.0 port for ‘software updates’.
