Further information on supporting our work.Medium refresh IPS models are popular and versatile choices, particularly when combined with a QHD or ‘1440p’ resolution. The MSI MAG 275QF is one such offering, with a 180Hz QHD IPS panel. The monitor has a simple design where dark matte plastic dominates. The top and side bezels adopt the common dual-stage design, with slender panel border flush with the rest of the screen and slim hard plastic outer edge. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear of the screen, towards the right side as viewed from the front.
A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS-type panel is used with support for a 180Hz refresh rate plus Adaptive-Sync. VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync can be used, with 48 – 180Hz VRR range plus LFC. A matte anti-glare screen surface is employed, whilst a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 8-bit colour are specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 101% sRGB (78% DCI-P3, 82% Adobe RGB) gamut – so a standard gamut experience. Basic HDR10 support is provided, giving a different look to things for a bit of variety, with 10-bit colour processing supported. The screen lacks suitable brightness capability, any specified local dimming or a wide enough gamut for a proper HDR experience. A 0.5ms grey to grey response time is specified (approach with caution), whilst a tilt-only stand is included. Provision for alternative 100 x 100mm VESA mounting is included. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Further information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$190 USD.
