Most 144Hz+ ‘4K’ UHD models on the market use IPS-type panels which typically offer strong colour output and decent responsiveness, but some prefer the stronger contrast output of VA models. The LG 32UQ750 (32UQ750-W owing to the mainly white rear) offers this experience. HDMI 2.1 is also included, which facilitates a ‘4K’ UHD @120Hz signal for compatible GPUs and games consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X, alongside integrated VRR support. The monitor has familiar homely LG styling, with a silver-coloured stand including cylindrical neck and crescent-shaped base. And a matte black plastic bottom bezel. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen and a slim hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick which faces downwards beneath the central region of the bottom bezel.

Homely styling

A 31.5″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) VA panel is used, with 144Hz refresh rate supported. Adaptive-Sync features, including AMD FreeSync Premium with 48 – 144Hz VRR range plus LFC. A 2500:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 10-bit colour support is specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight yields a 90% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 400 cd/m² typical maximum luminance. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings including ‘Reader Mode’ feature for a potentially more relaxing viewing experience. The monitor responds to HDR10 content in a basic way, without a particularly high brightness or specified local dimming. The reasonable colour gamut can be put to potentially good use alongside 10-bit colour reproduction, however.

A 4ms (pinch of salt required) grey to grey response time is specified. The included stand offers tilt, height and pivot adjustment and attaches via a quick-release mechanism. It can be removed and an alternative solution used with 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. The ports face backwards in a recessed region to the right of stand attachment point and include; 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, DP 1.4 (with DSC), USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 2 USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio output and DC power input (external ‘power brick’). 2 x 5W MaxxAudio speakers are also included.
