OLED monitors are attractive candidates for gaming and other uses, due to their mixture of responsiveness and image quality. The Gigabyte MO32U24 is one such offering, with Gigabyte’s usual simple but premium-feeling housing. This includes a coated metal stand neck and low-profile base. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard outer component. An ‘active area’ (overprovisioning of pixels) between the image and panel border is also present, used for one of the image retention mitigation measures. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath the central region of the bottom bezel.

Simple and solid styling

A 31.5″ 3840 x 2160 (‘4K’ UHD) Samsung Display QD-OLED panel is used with 240Hz refresh rate and VRR support, including Adaptive-Sync and HDMI 2.1. This allows VRR technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to be used, with 48 – 240Hz VRR range plus LFC. A 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD signal with HDR and VRR can also be used on modern consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The screen surface is glossy with anti-reflective treatment, including ‘ObsidianShield’ film to reduce lightening up of the screen surface in ambient light alongside superior scratch resistance. Other aspects of note include a 1.5m:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles, 10-bit colour and 0.03ms grey to grey response time. The monitor is ‘flicker-free’, with 300 cd/m² (1000 cd/m² HDR peak, 3% APL) typical maximum luminance.

A dynamic HDR10 experience is offered, with the monitor able to make good use of its combination of colour gamut, per-pixel dimming and 10-bit colour. VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification is included, which requires higher brightness levels (including full screen white brightness) than the more common True Black 400 certification. Alternative HDR settings with higher brightness peaks are included. The stand is fully adjustable, including height adjustment (130mm or 5.12 inches) and pivot into portrait. The stand can be removed to make way for an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution, if preferred. The ports face downwards and include; 2 HDMI 2.1 ports (48 Gbps, full bandwidth), DP 1.4, USB-C (18W PD, DP Alt Mode, upstream data), 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (plus type-B upstream), a 3.5mm headphone jack and AC power input (internal power converter). 2 x 5W speakers are included, whilst the monitor supports KVM for easy display input and USB peripheral switching between 2 systems.

The rear view

The monitor includes a 3-year warranty with burn-in cover, with further details found on the manufacturer’s website. The screen is available from late February 2026, with an RRP ~$850.
