Some appreciate the immersion and overall experience provided by a ~32″ screen with 2560 x 1440 (QHD) resolution. This is offered by the Gigabyte GS32QC, with its 170Hz-capable VA panel. The monitor has a simple design with dark plastics used extensively. The top and side bezels are dual-stage with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath the central region of the bottom bezel.

A 31.5″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) VA panel is used, with 1500 (moderate) curve to draw you into the experience a bit. A 170Hz refresh rate (165Hz + mild factory OC) is supported alongside Adaptive-Sync. This allows VRR technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used, with 48 – 170Hz VRR range plus LFC. A matte anti-glare screen surface is used with other specifications of note including a 3500:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 8-bit colour support. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 109% sRGB colour gamut – so this is considered a standard gamut model. The monitor is ‘Eyesafe’ certified (2.0 standard) by TÜV Rheinland, with the blue peak shifted to less energetic wavelengths and the amplitude of the peak reduced to potentially improve viewing comfort. The monitor responds to HDR10 content in a basic way and can leverage 10-bit colour processing, but doesn’t have the brightness, local dimming capabilities or colour gamut for a proper HDR experience. A 1ms MPRT response time (caution advised) is specified using the included ‘Aim Stabilizer’ strobe backlight setting. The stand is tilt-only, with 100 x 100mm VESA holes included for alternative mounting. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Further details can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$250 USD.
