A wide array of 144Hz+ QHD IPS models are available. The Gigabyte GS27Q adds another option, with its 170Hz-capable QHD IPS panel. The housing and stand is mainly dark matte plastic, with simple rectangular base design. The top and side bezels are dual-stage, with slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen plus thin hard plastic outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick beneath the central region of the bottom bezel.

A 27″ 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) IPS-type panel is used, with support for 170Hz refresh rate (165Hz + mild factory OC) and Adaptive-Sync. This allows VRR technologies such as AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ to be used, with 48 – 170Hz (or possibly 48 – 165Hz) VRR range plus LFC. A matte anti-glare screen surface is used with a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 8-bit colour specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight delivers a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 100% sRGB colour gamut – suggesting this is a standard gamut display. The monitor is ‘Eyesafe’ certified (2.0 standard) by TÜV Rheinland, with the blue peak shifted to less energetic wavelengths and the amplitude of the peak reduced to potentially improve viewing comfort. The monitor responds to HDR10 content in a basic way and can leverage 10-bit colour processing, but doesn’t have the brightness, local dimming capabilities or colour gamut for a real HDR experience. A 1ms MPRT response time is specified using the included strobe backlight mode, but as usual pay little attention to such figures. The stand is tilt-only, with 100 x 100mm VESA holes included for alternative mounting. The ports face downwards and include; AC power input (internal power converter), 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, DP 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Further details can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The monitor is listed for ~$220 USD.
