Dell’s UltraSharp U2414H has wowed many users with its impressive all-round performance and strikingly sleek looks. But for some, the 1920 x 1200 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio used on previous ’24 inch’ UltraSharps was still too much of a good thing to let go. The Dell U2415H gives users the best of both worlds, combining the sleek styling of the U2414H with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. The total bezel area, which includes the panel border and the hard plastic edge, is a mere 6.9mm. The stand is again fully adjustable offering tilt, pivot, height and swivel adjustment.

The monitor features a 24.1” IPS panel with 60Hz refresh rate, 1920 x 1200 resolution and a standard gamut WLED backlight with a specified 99% sRGB coverage. The backlight uses DC dimming rather than PWM regulation, so is ‘flicker-free’. The panel is likely a thus-far unseen variant of the LM240WU with a light matte anti-glare surface for a much clearer picture than that seen on the likes of the Dell U2412M. It has a specified typical maximum brightness of 300 cd/m² and minimum of 50cd/m². As you’d expect from an UltraSharp, the monitor comes factory calibrated – with an average DeltaE of <3 promised. The monitor also features adjustable grey to grey acceleration, something not to be taken for granted on models from this manufacturer. A 6ms grey to grey response time is quoted in the ‘Fast’ mode and 8ms in the ‘Normal’ mode. Note that these values are simply a more realistic representation of response time than the cherry-picked values most manufacturers provide. As everything is tuned like it is on the U2414H, there is nothing to worry about when it comes to pixel responsiveness.

The monitor features a fairly generous array of connectivity options; 2 HDMI ports (with MHL), Mini DP 1.2, DP 1.2, DP 1.2 out (for MST Daisy Chaining), 3.5mm audio input (for use with VGA port), 3.5mm headphone jack and 5 USB 3.0 ports. The required USB 3.0 upstream port is also included. One of the USB ports also features fast charging functionality. VESA mounting is also included using the usual 100 x 100mm holes, for those who want to use an alternative stand or mounting solution.
