Pushing refresh rates into the triple digits can be attractive for both gaming and productivity. The Dell S2725DC is built with both uses in mind, with a 144Hz IPS panel. The monitor offers the simple sleek styling often associated with the series, with simple silver-coloured stand neck and rectangular base. As well as slim bezels, particularly at the top and sides where a dual-stage design is used. Encompassing both a slim panel border flush with the rest of the screen, plus a thin hard outer part. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick at the rear, towards the right side as viewed from the front. A separate dedicated power button is also included.

A sleek design

A 27″ IPS panel is used with 2560 x 1440 (QHD or 1440p) resolution and support for a 144Hz refresh rate. VRR is supported via both Adaptive-Sync and ‘HDMI 2.1 VRR’, allowing technologies such as Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ and AMD FreeSync to be used. A matte anti-glare screen surface is used, whilst a 1500:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and 8-bit colour are specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight provides a 350 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 99% sRGB colour gamut. A 4ms grey to grey response time is specified alongside a 1ms MPRT setting using the strobe backlight setting. The stand is fully adjustable, including 110mm (4.33 inches) height adjustment and pivot into portrait. It can be removed via quick-release mechanism to reveal provision for 100 x 100mm VESA mounting. The ports mainly face downwards and include; an AC power input (internal power converter), HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, USB-C (65W PD, DP Alt Mode and upstream data) and a USB 3.2 Gen1 port. An additional USB-C (15W PD) and USB-A downstream port is located in a pop out hub at the bottom of the screen, for easy access faces sideways for easy access. 6W stereo speakers are included for potentially quite rich sound output.
