The Dell P2421D and P2421DC present themselves as interesting options of this sort, with 23.8″ 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) panels. The design stays true to many recent ‘P’ (Professional) series models from the manufacturer, with a smart home-office appearance. A satin-effect silver plastic rectangular stand base provides a simple but firm footing to the monitor, with a broad stand neck design and fairly thick matte black plastic bezel. The top and side bezels use a dual-stage design, with a slender panel border that’s flush with the rest of the screen and a slim hard plastic outer component. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by pressable buttons at the right end of the bottom bezel, facing downwards.
A 23.8″ 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) IPS-type panel is used, employing a matte anti-glare screen surface and offering a 1000:1 static contrast. This is complemented by a 60Hz refresh rate, 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, 8-bit colour support (6-bit + FRC) and a 5ms grey to grey response time (caution advised). A flicker-free WLED backlight is included, offering a 300 cd/m² typical maximum luminance and 99% sRGB coverage. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings including a ‘ComfortView’ setting are included to promote greater viewing comfort, useful in the evenings in particular where blue light exposure should be minimised.
