Acer are continuing to massively expand their range of gaming monitors, including a number of world firsts. The Acer XB323U GX (XB323UGX or XB323U GXbmiiphzx) offers a similar feature set to the XB323U GP, but increases the maximum refresh rate to 270Hz. Styling elements are identical. An Acer Predator aesthetic with some sharp lines and an artistically styled powder-coated metal stand. The top and side bezels are dual-stage with a slim panel border that’s flush with the rest of the screen. And a slender hard plastic outer component. The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by a joystick and accompanying buttons at the rear of the monitor, towards the right side as viewed from in front.

An artistic stand design

A 32″ 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) IPS-type panel is used, the AUO M320DAN02.0 AHVA (Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle) panel. This sports a 270Hz refresh rate (240Hz with internal factory overclock) alongside Adaptive-Sync, including Nvidia’s ‘G-SYNC Compatible Mode’ and AMD FreeSync. A VRR range of 48 – 270Hz plus LFC is assumed. The monitor features a matte anti-glare screen surface and offers a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178°/178° viewing angles and true 8-bit colour. The monitor is factory calibrated, offering an average DeltaE <2. A flicker-free Quantum Dot LED (Quantum Dots + blue LED) backlight is used, providing a colour gamut of 95% DCI-P3 (99% Adobe RGB) and a 400 cd/m²+ typical maximum luminance. A higher luminance level of 600 cd/m² is supported in conjunction with 16-zone local dimming for HDR purposes, with VESA DisplayHDR 600 offered. This also allows 10-bit colour processing to be used and for the generous colour gamut to be used appropriately. A 1ms or 'up to 0.5ms' grey to grey response time is specified, but as usual don't pay too much attention to that figure. The stand offers full ergonomic flexibility, including height, swivel, tilt and pivot adjustment. It can be removed to make way for an alternative 100 x 100mm VESA compatible solution, if preferred. The ports mainly face downwards and include; AC power input (internal converter), HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4, 2 USB 3.0 ports (plus upstream) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. 2 additional USB 3.0 ports are located on the left side of the screen, as viewed from the front. 2 x 2W speakers are included, for basic sound output.

Be wary that some information, especially with respect to images, is carried over from other models and not correct. This includes the bezel design, which is as we show here instead. The monitor is listed for ~$900 USD.
